Impostor syndrome (or impostor phenomenon) is a psychological pattern in which individuals doubt their accomplishments or talents with a persistent fear of being exposed. This seminar will focus on the impact of this phenomenon on students, especially those of color.

The IEEE Graduate Student Chapter is delighted to host Dr. Kevin O Cokley, Professor, Department of Educational Psychology and African and African Diaspora Studies Department, College of Liberal Arts at UT Austin, for this seminar!

Dr. Cokley's research can be broadly categorized in the area of African American psychology, with a focus on racial and ethnic identity development, academic motivation and academic achievement. Recently Dr. Cokley has started exploring the impostor phenomenon and its relationship to mental health and academic outcomes among ethnic minority students.
