Prof. Jeff Andrews and his students Sarabjot Singh and Harpreet Dhillon for receiving a Best Paper Award at the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Communications in Budapest, Hungary.

The award was given to their paper “Downlink Rate Distribution in Multi-RAT Heterogeneous Networks.” The paper describes a comprehensive model and analytical framework for determining data rate in overlaid heterogeneous cellular and WiFi networks.

Jeff and his students’ work was supported by Intel and Cisco under the Video Aware Wireless Networks program. Their work also received the Best Technical Talk award when presented at the final VAWN workshop at Intel last year.
