Bill Stewart was Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of BJ Services Company from 1990, when Baker Hughes Incorporated sold BJ Services to the public, until 2010, when Baker Hughes re-purchased BJ Services. He served on the Board of Baker Hughes from 2010 until 2017.
Bill is a former President of the Alley Theater Board of Directors and served on the Advisory Board of the Children’s Museum of Houston. Currently, he is a Trustee of the Menil Collection and serves as Chairman of the Menil Investment Committee. He also served on the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee of the Botanic Garden of Houston.
Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1966 and the following year, he attended the Graduate Business School of The University of Texas at Austin. Bill graduated from the University of Houston Law School in 1973 with a Juris Doctorate Degree. Additionally, he served two years in the US Army from 1967 through 1969 receiving an honorable discharge following his service obligation.
Bill maintains his permanent residence in Houston, Texas and spends much of his time traveling and working on various projects.
