EcoCAR EV Challenge

Electrifying transportation is a crucial step in meeting international goals to combat climate change. The EcoCAR EV Challenge brings together universities to compete in a 4-year long Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition sponsored by the DOE, GM, Mathworks, and many more. The UT team is challenged to upgrade a full electric 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ to improve its fuel economy, power, drivability, and autonomous driving features. The FH01 Senior Design Team has joined Year 2 the competition to help the UT team fully integrate new motors and controllers. The team is proud to have designed and integrated Low-Voltage and High-Voltage power distribution networks into the team’s vehicle. The project also involves the software control of High-Voltage systems to safely power and drive the vehicle.
