UT.6.02x: Embedded Systems - Shape the World has been named as one of the top 10 most popular Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) based on registration numbers. This is a revised version of the original course that launched in 2014. The course is led by Prof. Jon Valvano and Prof. Ramesh Yerraballi. It is a hands-on, learn-by-doing courses that shows students how to build solutions to real-world problems using embedded systems.

The course uses a bottom-up approach to problem solving, building gradually from simple interfacing of switches and LEDs to complex concepts like display drivers, digital to analog conversion, generation of sound, analog to digital conversion, graphics, interrupts, and communication.
