Texas ECE PhD students Biying Xu and Wei Ye have been selected to receive inaugural Cadence Women in Tech Scholarships. Cadence created the scholarships as part of their strategy to increase and support diversity in tech fields. Students are selected based on a strong academic record, exemplifying leadership, and demonstrating a passion for technology. Scholarship winners receive an unrestricted $5,000 cash award.

Both Biying and Wei are supervised by Dr. David Z. Pan, and they are part of the UT Design Automation Laboratory. Biying joined Texas ECE in Fall 2014, and Wei joined Texas ECE in Fall 2015.
