Texas Engineering Receives Donation from Qualcomm

The Cockrell School of Engineering has received $1 million from Qualcomm Incorporated, furthering the company’s support of Texas Engineering over the past two years. This latest gift will provide funding for the construction of the new home of UT Austin’s Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG), which will be housed within the Engineering Education and Research Center (EERC), opening in 2017.

Nan Sun and David Pan received a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Division of Computing and Communication Foundations for their research project titled, ‘Automation for Synthesizable and Scaling Friendly Analog and Mixed-Signal Circuits’.

Ananth Dodabalapur has been appointed as the founding editor of Flexible and Printed Electronics (FPE). Flexible and Printed Electronics is a new addition to IOP Publishing’s materials and applied physics portfolios of journal.


Kayoung Lee and Avinash Nayak Receive the Ben Streetman Prize 2015

Kayoung Lee and Avinash Nayak, doctoral students at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering, have been awarded the Ben Streetman Prize for the academic year 2014-2015.


Prof. Joydeep Ghosh Receives 2015 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award

Prof. Joydeep Ghosh has been named the 2015 recipient of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award for “foundational contributions to multi-learner systems.”
