Over the past year, our team worked to upgrade Privacy Check, a browser extension created by UT Center for Identity. This extension utilizes machine learning to analyze a website's privacy policy and provide the user with easy-to-understand scores. Our update includes four new features which aim to empower Privacy Check's users. Our cache continuously updates the top 100 most visited websites' scores bi-weekly to reduce latency with our other features. Our second feature, Privacy Check's Wall of Shame/Wall of Fame, aims to promote the best andshame the worst websites (in general and within specific market sectors) in terms of how well they protect the user's data. Our third feature, Privacy Trends, tracks a website's privacy policy over time and allows the user to see whether a website's privacy policies are headed in the right or wrong direction. Our final feature will point the user in the direction of websites with better privacy policies after evaluating the current website they are visiting.
