Yale Patt Honored for Pioneering Contributions to Microprocessor Development

Yale Patt has been honored by The Franklin Institute with the 2016 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Computer and Cognitive Science. He is receiving the medal for his “pioneering contributions to the design of modern microprocessors that achieve higher performance by automatically identifying computer instructions that can be performed simultaneously.”

Texas ECE professor Dr. Mikhail Belkin has been elected to Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA). Prof. Belkin was elected for “for seminal contributions to photonics technology, spectroscopy and nonlinear optics in mid-infrared and terahertz spectral range.”

Prof. Deji Akinwande has been appointed as editor for IEEE Electron Device Letters (EDL). EDL is a highly regarded publication  in the broad field of electron devices and is the flagship journal of the IEEE Electron Devices Society.
