Researchers from The University of Texas at Austin developed synaptic transistors for brain-like computers using the thin, flexible material graphene. These transistors are similar to synapses in the brain, that connect neurons to each other.

His tremendous efforts over the last 15 years of university-wide service were recognized by the university with the Civitatis Award. The Civitatis Award was established in 1997 to recognize outstanding faculty citizenship. It is conferred upon a member of the UT faculty in recognition of dedicated and meritorious service to the university above and beyond the regular expectations of teaching, research and service.

Jerry A. Yang is a PhD student in electrical engineering at Stanford University. He received his BS in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020.

Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University have developed an electronic tattoo that can be worn comfortably on the wrist for hours and deliver continuous blood pressure measurements at an accuracy level exceeding nearly all available options on the market today.
